Synopsis

I could have sworn I posted this book review last year but it’s no where to be found on my site.

The Characters:
The first scene drew me in instantly. I am a huge sucker for unrequited love stories. It wasn’t that Justin’s affections for Brook weren’t necessarily ‘not returned’ it was the very complicated circumstances surrounding their relationship that made a relationship together seemingly impossible. Also, her innocence and naivety. loved the beautiful friendship between the two of them that develops into something more throughout, but what struck me as amazing was the fact that this long-standing friendship was so easily and effortlessly conveyed within the first scene. That right there, is talent.
Also I love the name Brook. What an adorable name.
Lastly – I have a propensity toward falling for side characters as hard as I fall for the main characters, and I really adored Brice for the same reasons Brook did, even though she belonged with Justin. But I am SO happy Brice has his own story. Already purchased and waiting in my kindle 🙂
The Story:
The unfolding discovery of her heritage, and the complications of Justin’s station as future Duke create many obstacles for this couple, and I enjoyed the plot, the twists, the mystery, the intrigue. I loved it all.
Recommended?
Absolutely. This was a fantastic historical romance with more romance and the perfect amount of historical details. It was beautifully written.
