What inspired this story?

Just when you think you’ve had the best dog in the world, another one comes along to steal your heart. This statement rings true for me as I remember the first dog my husband and I had together, an especially smart American foxhound named Charlotte.

I love to cook for my family, and Italian food is my favorite. In CHASING CHARLOTTE, I combined my love for trying new recipes, and my precious memories of Charlotte, to write a book about a girl and her fervent search for her beloved dog; a search which ultimately leads her to the business partner she needed, and the love of a lifetime.

Sweet Summer by Christina Sinisi

About the Book

What inspired this story?

Sweet Summer is the second book in the Summer Creek series. The first book, Christmas Confusion, was written in only three and a half weeks. Back on June 4, 2019, I saw a call for Christmas novellas by Anaiah Press, due at the end of the month. Rushed, I looked around and saw a young member of my church, Tiffany, who deserved a good love story. So, I created a romance for her–and ended up with a fictional heroine only a little like her and only really sharing her straight blonde hair.

The fictional Tiffany had two younger sisters, one of whom showed up at the end of the book and stood at a distance from the others. When my mentor Eloisa James read Christmas Confusion, she said, “Now I want to hear the other sisters’ stories.” Another friend asked, “What’s up with Shelby running away from her family?” I had to tell her story. Then, I thought about this reckless woman afraid of death and constantly flirting with danger. What hero would be the perfect foil for her? Ah, a nerd that seems, at least at first, scared of his shadow. So, then we have a romance of two opposites who attract and end up needing each other, and God, more than they even knew.
