Romance Book Blast: Footprints on Her Heart and Fake Identity at Stake

I love reading, and I love reading romance novels even more. To celebrate this week after Valentine’s Day and my love of reading, every day this week, I’ve put together some great romance book recs for you all, along with behind the story tidbits straight from the authors!

Footprints on Her Heart by Tabitha Bouldin

He’s saving the world, one animal at a time.

Trent Raines’ opinion, happily ever after has four paws and doggy breath. He spends his days isolated at the shelter, taking care of animals. Especially now that romance seems to be spreading across the islands faster than fleas in summer.

She lives a safe life behind the camera lens.

Kara Parker’s job at the animal shelter keeps her too busy to worry about romance. Sure, the boss is cute and all, but her introverted nature is perfectly happy as a photographer and website designer, thank you very much.

Even a quick trip to the mainland to retrieve a truckful of animals won’t change their minds.

 Or so they think.

As Trent comes to understand Kara, he discovers there’s more than meets the eye in his quiet employee. Together, they plan a Christmas adoption festival that’s certain to empty the animal shelter in record time. Until a blast from Trent’s past puts all the animals in danger.

Sure, Trent and Kara are fine on their own, but they’re even better together.

What will it take for these soulmates conquer their fears and rescue the animals before it’s too late?

What inspired you to write in the romance genre?

The romance genre has always been a big draw for me in reading. I love the happily ever afters (even the cheesy ones) and I enjoy seeing a couple grow throughout the story. When I started writing, I knew I had to do romance. I’m not sure I could write a book and not have at least a romantic subplot. It’s simply too ingrained in me to have that thread going. It’s what I love to read and love even more to write.

Fake Identity at Stake: Small Town Christian Romcom Book 1 by Lisa Renee

Jake Mardell’s quiet life is thrown into a flurry when the new neighbor’s Great Dane kills his late grandmother’s prize chickens. He’s outraged that the woman can’t control her yapping dog. And to think he was going to welcome her into the neighborhood.

Under a witness protection program, Kaitlyn Hughes (alias Charlotte), is shocked upon first meeting a furious Jake, on her porch in his boxer shorts returning her dog. He doesn’t accept her apology, so she calls him a Christian hypocrite and slams the door in his face.

To make matters worse, the next day Jake slashed an incorrect delivery on his porch, which cut through a wedding dress. Kaitlyn accuses him of revenge. The useless dress only reminded her of an ex-boyfriend, who had introduced her to church but fell away from his faith. She hadn’t returned to a church since the break-up.

Kaitlyn’s judgment on Jake’s character had stung him. He is determined to make it up to his neighbor and show her Christians can be trusted. He comes up with a plan despite the risk of being pricked by the cactus-flower.

What inspired you to write this story?

I wanted to write a fun, entertaining story, which also touched on the deep faith questions Christians ask themselves or God when life doesn’t turn out how they expected, or when fellow Christians have failed them. Stories can entertain but also transform us and challenge our thinking. There weren’t many Christian romcoms out there, so I decided to fill that gap.
